Domain Names
Domain name registration, for one year, is included in each of the website packages. The domain name may end with the extension .com, .org, or .net. The original intent of the three extensions was to denote a business (.com), a non-profit organization (.org), or an internet related enterprise (.net). Today, these three domain extensions are available for registration regardless of the nature of the enterprise. The Website Weaver recommends the .com extension for a business.
Domain names are unique identifiers, subject to availability. The .com names are in short supply. A domain name may contain 64 letters and numbers or a dash (-), but may not contain spaces. Choose names that are short, and are easy to say, spell, and remember. Submit three names on your website worksheet. The Website Weaver will check the availability of the names and confirm your choice, before registering your domain name.
Domain names are leased, not owned. In order to provide turnkey website packages and facilitate renewals, your domain name will be leased by The Website Weaver. The domain name may be transferred to a person of your choosing at any time during the contract period.

A web page will be considered to be approximately the amount of information contained on an 8.5 X 11 inch piece of paper. Internal links to each of your web pages are included on each page. You will be mailed a diskette containing your website when it is substantially complete and again at the end of your contract period.
The content of the web page(s) will be supplied by you. If the text on the page exceeds 50 words, the text should be supplied in a computer file format (e-mail or e-mail attachment). Photos or logos may be supplied in digital form (by e-mail), or print versions may be mailed to The Website Weaver for digitizing and web optimization. Graphics must be compressed for viewing on the web and degradation of image quality will occur - highly detailed images should be avoided. You are responsible for obtaining copyright to all material you supply for your website.
Website Hosting
In order to provide state-of-the-art internet hosting to our clients, website hosting is provided by a third-party internet host. The Website Weaver employs a host that offers the the dependability and speed that your website will require.
Our host offers four redundant DS3 connections through UUnet, GTE, and Frontier Global and uninterrupted connectivity with a 99.9% uptime guarantee. Their Network Operations Center is guarded from environmental hazards with a 250kw natural gas powered generator, redundant air conditioning, and fire suppression systems and the computer systems are monitored 24 hours a day, 7-days a week. For maximum reliability, all servers are custom-built using the best components currently available in the industry. Since there are constant improvements in the hardware industry, systems are upgraded every 3-4 months; thereby, providing access to the latest machines. The operating system and software includes a customized version of Redhat, using the powerful Apache Webserver and Apache SSL server (for secure transactions).
In the unlikely event that it becomes necessary to change hosts, The Website Weaver will redirect your website to a host with similar capacities.

Submission to and acceptance by search engines, and good search engine placement is a constantly changing endeavor. Each search engine has specific criteria for submission. The Website Weaver will design your website in a manner that will be acceptable by most search engines. Keep in mind however, site content is an important consideration for many search engines.
Several search engines accept free submission and offer free indexing. However, as the internet grows and search engines become successful, new search engines become available and and successful ones begin to charge for listings, or for "express listings" to expedite your submission.
Included in your website package is submission to the following "free" search engines:
Alta Vista, AOL Netfind, Infospace, Infoseek, Northern Lights, WhatuSeek, What's New on the Internet, What's New Too, Excite, Galaxy, Hotbot, Lycos, Google,Yahoo and ComFind
Among the above search engines, your site will likely be indexed by Alta Vista, AOL Netfind, Google, What's New Too, WhatuSeek and ComFind within two months of submission. The other search engines are visited and rated by humans and have a six-month to one-year backlog (some offer an express listing).
There are also several search engines that charge listing fees. A list of these search engines will be provided to you by The Website Weaver.

Website Maintenance
The ability to make changes to your website is vital to the full utilization of the internet as a marketing tool. The Website Weaver emphasizes on-going maintenance as an integral part of your website package. Each package includes a stated amount of maintenance per month. However, the maintenance time may be accrued, within the contract period, and need not be used each month.
What Can Be Accomplished in 10 minutes?
Our Cotton Package offers 10 minutes of website maintenance per month for a one page website. Will that be enough? In 10 minutes, new text (received in an e-mail) can replace your old text, or a photo can be digitized, or a new digitized photo can be added to your site. In other words, your site can be virtually redesigned every three months.
You may wish to expand your website during your contract period. Page additions and/or maintenance is available on an hourly basis. ($75.00/Hr.)

E-mail Accounts
Each e-mail address can be redirected (forwarded) to several other e-mail addresses. Each e-mail account mailbox is limited to 10MB of storage. Additional e-mail accounts may be added for a $10.00 set-up fee per e-mail account.

Interactive Feedback Form or Guestbook
An interactive Feedback Form is a form for your visitors to fill out and submit. Upon submittal, the visitor will receive a confirmation message and an e-mail, containing the form contents, will be sent to your e-mail account.
A guestbook is a form for your visitors to leave comments and read the comments of others. You will receive an e-mail containing the comments and can decide whether or not to post the comment for others to view (training in the use of this feature will be supplied).

Your e-commerce store is powered by the That's An Order LE shopping cart software; a full featured and powerful e-commerce solution that provides the following features:
Inventory tracking and integrated shipping with FedEx and UPS.
A unique order number for each order.
An e-mail database which can be used for sales, mailings, etc.
A master backup file which will store all order information, except for credit card numbers, for security reasons.
Collection of First name, Last name, Address, Day phone, Credit Card number, and cardholder's name for each customer.
